Late Summer Watermelon Jam by Mezerg

This post is about a cool video that I saw recently by Mezerg, a musical maestro from the south of France.

Mixmag France called this one-man band a “mad scientist of acoustic techno,” a title that is evident in the following video. Here Mezerg (real name Marc Mezergue) has hooked wires up to watermelon and cantaloupe slices, as well as two kiwi halves, and plays them like a keyboard.

It’s weird and delightful and somehow addictive, as are his other jams. A moment of zen in a difficult year.
